Dr. Bassel Daoud, a Canadian national, from the University of Damascus, Syria, received a doctorate in human medicine in 2005 and then he specialized in ophthalmology and surgery. He obtained his certificate of specialization from the Syrian Ministry of Health in 2010 to continue his studies at Nancy University in France. In retinal diseases in 2012. He opened his clinic for ophthalmology in Damascus until 2013 and then moved to the Alumi Medical Center in Libereville, Gabon, until 2015, after which he moved to work as a physician and eye surgeon at the Syrian American Center in Qatar. Dr. Bassel is a member of the American Society of Ophthalmologists, the Association of Doctors of Gabon and the Syrian Society of Ophthalmologists. He also participated in several conferences in his specialization in various countries.
